2020 was a year of big changes and transformation. As we entered lockdown, we became increasingly reliant on social media and digital platforms to run our businesses, connect with family and friends, do our shopping, help others in need and have fun. With more businesses and customers on social media, it can be difficult to stand out and engage with your audience. This is where a social media strategy comes in. Depending on what business you are in, the festive season can be a busy period or the ideal time for you to take a much-needed break! No matter what space your business is in at the moment, there is one thing you shouldn’t take a break from this festive season, and that is your social media marketing. 

Many people are still on social media over this season, either browsing for gifts or planning their next project for the new year. Even if your business is not trading over this period, it would be a shame to miss out on all of the online activity. We often speak of consistency in social media, and this is still relevant over the festive season. If people are following your page and engaging with your content regularly, they may get out of the habit of following you if they notice that you aren’t posting anymore. Even a short break in social media marketing may result in you losing followers to your competitors. 

Don’t just be about sales!

If you are still trading over this period and have amazing specials, then, of course, it is important to advertise these on your social media, however, social media is also about building relationships and showcasing your brand’s personality .
